Honda Brio  –  Is It Worth Your Money?

Honda cars in India have always been very popular. One of the leading carmakers from Japan, Honda has always found resonance amongst the Indian customers who look for quality and performance. Although, Honda cars are not incredibly cheap, but it justifies its pricing with the quality, features and comfort that it offers.

Honda Brio was launched with much fanfare by Honda in 2011, but it faced stiff competition in the mid-range hatchback segment. With numerous new variants launched by other automobile manufacturers, Honda Brio has been facing an uphill battle. Brio received the last facelift in 2016 from Honda which gave it a more modern look. On the front side there is a re-done grille which is marked by  distinct chrome strip. The front bumper has also been redone but the sides have not been tinkered with. There is a tail gate spoiler on the rear end with mounted LED headlamps. There is no wiper or washer on the rear mirror but a defogger which comes handy in winters.


On the inside, Honda has put in much efforts and they show visible improvements. The central console has been entirely re-done with bigger dials and improved instrument cluster. Seating option has not been changed and offers plenty of comfort and leg space. There is a 2-DIN music system, adjustable steering, adjustable driver seat, front air bags, keyless entry, power windows and several other standard features. For safety purpose, an engine immobiliser has also been installed. Parking sensors and push button start/stop features are conspicuous by absence. The limited boot space is still a big drawback for the car.


Honda Brio is available with a 1198 cc petrol engine that gives a mileage of 18.5 kmpl while the automatic transmission version offers up to 16.5 kmpl. Customers can choose between manual and automatic transmission options.


Honda Brio Price for manual transmission variant starts from Rs. 4.73 Lakhs and goes up to 5.97 Lakhs while the automatic transmission variant has been priced at Rs. 6.82 Lakhs. All these prices are on ex-showroom Delhi basis.


Honda Brio is available in four different colours Rallye Red, White Orchard Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, and Albaster Silver.
